Nostalgia is about unnatural events in the natural world. Roberts’ work preserves both memory and subject, however fleeting. His technique is a microscopic examination of nature’s own artwork. It celebrates the overlooked but fundamental elements of life itself: wildflowers and pollinators, revealing their magnificent but fragile beauty.
“African Honey Bee” is David Roberts’ second painting to be featured in the Kenya Arts Diary.
“Reflections” is the perfect vehicle to display David’s latest collection, which captures the essence and spirit of Kenya’s enormous equatorial skies, reflective waters and distant mountains.
“The Gentle Drop” of a wild hibiscus flower and “Gathering Storm” of the panoramic skies over Lake Baringo are both featured in “Blue”, an exhibit of ten artists who utilise this much loved and debated colour in their work.
David Roberts’ new exhibition coincides with his return home to Kenya.
